Animation by Blue Zoo. Music by Everis Pellius. Mix & Sound design by Chris Renshaw.
We offer a wide range of audio-post services from voice recording including voice-directing, editing, ADR and audio clean-up, foley and sound effects tracking through to full sound design and mixing.
Before starting Taptap Sound, Chris was a senior engineer at The Sound Company Fitzrovia (8yrs) and Matinee Sound (11yrs)
Chris has worked as a dubbing mixer on projects for the BBC, Sky, Mattel, Discovery Networks, Youtube Originals and others. He has worked as ADR recordist for many tv shows (Orphan Black, Murdoch Mysteries, Person Of Interest) and movies (A Little Chaos, Twice Born, Upside Down) and has tracked and edited audio for countless other productions, games and radio programmes in a career spanning nearly 30 years.
Our studio equipment includes ProTools, Cubase, Reaper, RX, Wavelab, SoundForge and the latest and greatest audio tools for mixing and mangling audio. Our SFX library is vast and growing, and we regularly subscribe to the very best soundfx and media services, meaning that we can source and create any audio assets in any format, including bringing in musical elements where necessary.
The studio may be at the literal 'bottom of the garden' (see pictures) but don't be fooled - we have recorded voices for many shows in this wonderfully private and quiet space, and Chris has remotely voice-directed performers in LA, London and Toronto, via our fast and reliable internet.
For most jobs we can offer a service to rival the audio-post options available in London, Manchester, New York and LA - with access to the very same audio-tech without the overheads and at a fraction of the price. If you don't attend all of your tracking / editing / dubbing sessions, or you call in remotely from the office or home then consider if you could be saving money by bringing your audio-post work to us, as Mattel, Karott Animation and Oxford University Press have done. Work can be uploaded for off-line review, reviewed live via streaming services, or delivered on to any other studio, theatre or office space as required. In most studios, most of the work happens in small suites exactly like our beloved garden studio. In fact at 5x4(x2.7) and heavily acoustically treated as it is, our space is bigger and better that many of those teeny Soho/Media City Suites.
